Dr. John E. Kruger, O.D., FCOVD
Dr. Kruger started practice in Story City, Iowa in 1976. In 1980, he purchased Dr. Drummond's practice in Ames, Iowa. In 1986, along with Dr. McClean, built a new optometric office, located at 201 10th Street, Ames, Iowa. Two years later, Dr. Kruger bought Dr. McClean's practice, at his retirement. He has continued to practice at this location up to the present time. In 1980, 1986, and 1987 Dr. Kruger was diagnostic and therapeutically certified in the use of drugs for the treatment of eye infections and diseases.
Dr. Kruger graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1976. He is a fellow in the College of Visual Development. His special interests are primary eye care, contact lenses and vision rehabilitation. Dr. Kruger's community involvement includes, Ames Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, past President of the Story City Community Club, Vice-President of the Roland Story High School Foundation, past President and Deacon of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and past-president of the Board of Trustees for the Iowa Optometric Association. Dr. Kruger and his wife, Vicki, have three children, Kristine, Michael and Kimberly.
Dr. John Kruger has extensive training and background in the diagnosis and treatment of Eye Diseases, including Glaucoma, Cataracts, Visual Neurological problems and more.

Dr. Michael J. Kruger, O.D.
Michael J. Kruger attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa from 1996 until receiving his B.S. degree in 2000. Later that year, he attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry in Columbus, Ohio and received his O.D. degree in 2004. Dr. Kruger joined his father's private practice in July 2004, working in both the Ames and Des Moines locations. Dr. Kruger and his wife, Heather, have two children, Braden and Breanna.
